Since its inception, PLA has worked on urban design projects that build on a site’s rich history and ecology. We do so with the aim of making places for people and communities. Central to our award-winning designs is an understanding of the deeply rooted qualities of a place, its landscape, and communities that inhabit a site. Transformational strategies are generated to create communities and places that embody and support the evolving identity of a place, whether it is in an urban or suburban setting. Paul has written two books on urban design and how suburbs and mid-polis conditions can be transformed over time.
