Residential Architect & NZE Designer

Paul Lukez Architecture is seeking a highly motivated and skilled designer to help design and manage the growing project load for PLA’s residential group.

Increasingly, PLA is getting more clients requesting NZE designs. While the firm designs a mix of sustainable and conventional projects (both new construction and renovation), we are increasingly generating a deeper portfolio of sustainably oriented projects. The firms’ efforts in the field were recognized by Boston Magazine’s annual “Sustainable Architect of the Year Award” program in 2022. PLA’s goal is to create a vibrant and self-sustaining portion of the firm that designs and produces multiple sustainable projects a year at scale.

To that end, this position requires a unique combination of interests and skills. The applicant must be passionate about residential design. In addition, the applicant must be skilled in working with clients, contractors, consultants, and project team members in a collaborative fashion. They must have demonstrated experience managing the design process, including creating and/or managing construction drawings. An informed understanding of construction and its administration is key, to working together with contractors and craftspersons. Depending on the project’s schedule, and size ($500,000 to $5,000,000) the applicant will either be managing a project or working collaboratively with an established project team.

The applicant must have experience using REVIT and AutoCAD for CDs. In addition, proficiency in using a modeling and rendering program (Rhino, SketchUp, 3ds Max, V-Ray, or Enscape) is helpful. A professional degree is required.

We offer competitive pay based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for growth.
